This week’s Healthcare Footballer of the Week has been submitted by the VISL, but has links to all the soccer groups on the Island.

Most will know Aleksander through his duties as a high performance referee with BC Soccer.

He has been working on his craft a little more since ending his young promising playing career after injury. A whole lot of hard work has made it possible for him to be remain involved in the game at a high level.

Based out of Nanaimo, Aleksander works at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital as a Mental Health worker with Island Health in Psych Emergency and Psych Intensive Care. He has been with Island Health for 7 years.

While we usually just see one side of him on the field as an official, Aleksander shows his kindness, his compassion, understanding, and high level of care in a tricky and demanding field.
That is obviously noticed at his work at NRGH, and that same passion transfers over to soccer too.

It has been great to see Aleksander develop as an official.
His work on the field and in healthcare is very much appreciated.
